When I was approached to try the new Miele Bagless Vacuum Cleaner “The Blizzard CX1” I jumped at the chance. We currently use a Miele and I have been thoroughly impressed with it so I was keen to see what all the bagless fuss was about, and check out all the other features of this brand spanking new model. Yes, I have reached this level of motherhood where comparing vacuum cleaners is legitimately exciting, but I know I am not alone out there!
So I gave the Blizzard CX1 (who the kids and I affectionately named “Lizzy”) a week to settle in to her new home. And boy was she a welcome addition!
I am normally a “FOOD IS ONLY EATEN AT THE TABLE!” sort of mum but I let the kids go rogue with these Coconut and Tayberry muffins because I knew how easy it was going to be to clean up. I just whipped Lizzy out and turned her on at the wand and we were away. No more crumbs.
I’ve got the recipe for those dairy free muffins for you below too, but before I get to that I want to point out a few of Lizzy’s features.
She’s Bagless: The priority for the design team at Miele when working on The Blizzard CX1 was addressing the amount of airborne dust that is created when a typical bagless vacuum cleaner is emptied. All without reducing efficiency and power. And they succeeded! Emptying the canister is easy and hygienic. With the push of one button all the dust leaves the canister, no plumes of dust thrown around here! Then those clever people at Miele have also installed a “Comfort Clean” function which cleans the filter when required… Genius!
Vortex Technology: Using Vortex Technology achieves air flow of more than 100km/h, that puppy draws up fine dust & heavy soiling to achieve a beautiful clean finish. I know I’m getting mega excited, but honestly, when an appliance saves you time, and money, I feel this level of joy is justified. And unlike other bagless vacuums, the dust particles undergo one efficient journey through the Blizzard CX1 and don’t re-circulate throughout the machine. It’s perfect for reducing the effects of dust on those of us with allergies.
Remote Control Handle: Ok seriously this feature is my favourite. We have a combination of tiles, timber & carpet through our house, and after carrying around 2 children my back is not what it once was. But there is no bending down to constantly change the suction power settings. Oh no, no, no ITS ON THE HANDLE PEOPLE. MIND BLOWN! From the handle I can turn her on and off and adjust the suction settings!?! Ok I’ll calm down now but this combined with the extra-long cord means I just plug her in and off I go. No plugging and unplugging, no fiddling around. She’s such a time saver.
If you are like us, and also have fur babies, you’ll be pleased to know that that Lizzy dealt with all of the fur that my 2 rascals manage to spread around the house too.
So in summary, Lizzy is here to stay in our family. She made cleaning up a breeze, and that’s just exactly what you want in a vacuum cleaner, isn’t it.
Oh and that muffin recipe I promised. This isn’t an original recipe of mine, but it’s a favourite in our house. I originally found it on the ‘All Recipes’ website and I gave it a couple of twists to include our gorgeous tayberries. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
