I love making ‘take to work’ lunches for Hamish that are interesting, delicious and satisfying and these noodles are a winner!

You layer all the ingredients in your jar, then add boiling water to cook the noodles and prawns, wait 3 minutes, then eat. SO GOOD!

At the international section of your supermarket you will find the miso soup pouches, or you can buy a big jar of miso paste as well. You will find the ginger and noodles there too.

3 Minute Noodle Jar with Prawns, Miso & Sweetcorn
Ingredients
- 150 grams Prawns, defrosted, heads and tails removed
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Pickled ginger, sliced
- 1/2 cup Canned sweetcorn, drained
- 1 Shallot, finely sliced
- 1 packet Udon noodles
- 1 packet Instant Miso soup
- 1/2 tsp Powdered stock, I used vegetable
- 2 tbsp Sweet chilli sauce
- Garnish – cherry tomato, sesame seeds & coriander
Instructions
-
In your jar, place your flavourings first – soy, ginger, sweet chilli, miso, powdered stock & shallots, mix to combine.
-
Then corn on top, then the noodles, and the prawns. You are done! This goes to work, along with the garnish.
-
When you are ready to eat, top with boiling water, put the lid on loosely on the jar. Leave for 3 minutes, stir, garnish and eat!
Recipe Notes
Experiment with different styles and flavours, try cooked chicken with honey & Soy, or tofu with curry flavours.
Remember to let your jar come up to room temperature before adding the boiling water or it will crack.
I used a 3 cup capacity jar for this large serve size
You could sub root ginger for pickled
