Imagine putting down a tray of these Cheesy Stroganoff Sliders in front of your friends or family and watching their jaws drop!

I love using mushrooms along side the beef as they add a vegetable element but still taste really meaty. You could easily make this dish vegetarian just by using more mushrooms and omitting the steak.

Get this one on your meal plan asap, it’s a winner!

Ingredients that go into Cheesy Stroganoff Sliders:

  • Butter
  • Minced garlic
  • Steaks, I’m using sirloin steak, sliced across the grain
  • Oil, for frying
  • Meadow Mushrooms, sliced
  • Onion
  • Dijon mustard
  • Sour cream
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Beef stock
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Slider buns
  • Grated mozzarella
  • Slices of cheddar cheese

How to make Cheesy Stroganoff Sliders:

Preheat oven to 170 degrees fanbake

Make garlic butter by mixing 1 teaspoon of garlic with 75 grams of butter in a small bowl. You may need to warm the butter in the microwave to make it easier to mix. Set aside. Take a medium sized frypan over a medium high heat. Add the oil and once hot, add steak. Season with salt and pepper and fry until brown and no juices remain, around 4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Place the pan (no need to clean it) back on a medium heat and add the butter, once hot add the onions and mushrooms. Sauté until soft and golden, around 4 minutes.

Add mustard and garlic and stir to combine. Then beef stock and simmer for 2 minutes to combine.

Next sour cream, steak and paprika. Season with salt and pepper, stir until sour cream has all mixed into the sauce nicely. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Cut buns in half through the middle, keeping buns intact if possible, and place on a baking tray/pan. Place a layer of cheddar on top of buns.

Next add the stroganoff mix, when you do so, don’t add the sauce, drain this off a little so the buns don’t go soggy. (Keep the sauce for dipping later!) Top with the mozzarella cheese and place the top of the buns on. Melt your garlic butter and brush the top of the buns with garlic butter. Place in the oven for 20-30 minutes until cheese has melted.

IF the top starts to get too crispy cover with foil. Once the buns are cooked, serve with the remaining sauce for dipping.

Common questions about Cheesy Stroganoff Sliders: (if on the Block Editor, use Yoast FAQ blocks)

Can I make it vegetarian? Sure can, just swap the steak for extra mushrooms.

I can’t find cheddar slices? Just use slices of colby or tasty cheese.

What wine shall I serve with Cheesy Stroganoff Sliders? A big hearty red like a Cabernet Sauvignon.
