Tasty and delicious, these homemade Best Ever Beef Burgers will impress the whole family.
Burgers are always a win in our house. Who doesn’t love a burger, right? Our family coined these particular ones ‘Best Ever Beef Burgers’ recently because the combo is just so good! Once you know how to make your own burgers you will make them so often because it is easy, more cost effective and they taste way better! I love using these Brioche buns and burger cheese. Look for something like these cheddar slices by Dairyworks. I have used caramelised onions but you can fill your burgers with whatever you like.
For the caramelised onions, I cook them with balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Just delicious. For the burger patties I use, onion, carrot, tomato sauce, garlic and BBQ Sauce. I use an egg to bind them together and season well. When assembling, I have used iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, brioche buns, mayonnaise, and cheese. But have a play around and use what you enjoy in your burgers.
How to make Best Ever Beef Burgers:
First make your caramelised onions by cooking low and slow with salt and olive oil. Once soft and golden add the brown sugar and balsamic and continue cooking. They caramelise and taste delicious!
Now for the burger patties, mix the the mince, egg, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, salt and pepper together in a big bowl. I find the easiest way to do this is with your hands. Shape these into patties around 10 CM in size.
When you are ready to cook the burger patties, heat some oil in a heavy pan over a medium heat. Cook until brown on one side, then flip and place on a slice of that lovely cheese. cook until the patties are cooked and the cheese is melty and delish!
Now it is time to assemble! Toast your buns, spread with mayo, then its time to layer. First lettuce, then your lovely beef patties, then caramelised onions, tomato, seasoning and top with your burger bun. serve with hand cut chips and tomato sauce!
